Splayds splades sprorks buffet forks Sometimes these little forks are called sprorks, sometimes they are called splayds ( or splades ) and sometimes simply, "buffet forks". They are a cross between a knife, a spoon and a fork all in one implement. One side of the item has a serrated edge so that it cuts like a knife; there are prongs (or tines) like a fork but shorter and flatter than you usually find and a spoon- type bowl at the end of them. They are absolutely perfect for parties where you are trying to eat with one hand! You can eat your main course with them and polish off your dessert quite easily. Here are some of their uses but I am sure you will find others! Eating at parties or buffets Lunch boxes T.V. suppers Chinese takeaways American-style eating Barbeques and picnics Ideal for those who have limited use in one hand owing to stroke, illness or accident. Or just simply to cut down on the washing up!
The splayds are made of 18/10 quality stainless steel and are dishwasher safe. They are loose, not in a box. |
