This cast iron casserole is enamelled on the outside in popular orange.  It is made by Normandy Cookware and is heavy duty cast iron.  The handles and lid are also cast iron.

It is large enough for batch cooking or for a family.  It is stylish and elegant enough for a dinner party.  Sturdy enough to use on the hob as well as in the oven. This means you can fry, boil, simmer and then stew all in one pan.

Cast iron is a wonderful conductor of heat.  This means that you can turn off the heat source and the food will remain hot.  

Cast iron also builds its own non stick surface gradually and naturally.  All you do is boil a little milk and oil in the pan before first use. (Full instructions are given).

Easy to wash.  Handwash it and use a nylon brush and washing up liquid.

The casserole costs a fraction of other enamelled cast iron items and yet the quality is superb.
