Dept., 35, Riddings, Allestree,Derby DE22 2GD Phone: 01332 558053 About us Many people will know me as I have been trading under the name of "Heritage Silver" and "Heritage Cutlery" for over 25 years selling cutlery to both the public and the catering trade. Now we have decided to sell on the internet and we will still offer the same excellent service that we have always given. I would like to introduce myself to you. My name is Peter Gee and with the help of my wife, Glenda, I have recently set up this website. When I first set up my business over 25 years ago I sold Sheffield Cutlery and specialised in this for many years. When we first began everyone wanted Sheffield Silver Plated Cutlery and there were many cutlery firms in Sheffield all making this in the traditional way. As time went by, stainless steel cutlery became popular and we were able to source this also from our Sheffield contacts. People loved it because it was easy to look after and could be used in dishwashers. Later still, the quality of imported cutlery improved so that we were able to start selling high quality imported cutlery as an alternative. This proved very popular with both people at home and also with people in the catering trade. We began selling in Shopping Centres all over the country. You may well have seen us in High Wycombe, Portsmouth, Rugby,Guildford, Grimsby, Hull, Coventry, Northampton, Darlington, Derby, Lincoln, Kendal, Banbury, Birmingham,Burton on Trent, Stafford, Macclesfield, Leeds, Aylesbury or many other places.
As we sold, we also listened to what people wanted and gradually we began to sell kitchen gadgets, cookware, bar accessories, scissors, and high quality imported cutlery and we extended our range. Recently we have added Arthur Price Cutlery to our range. We began to build up a customer base not only of domestic buyers but also of people who ran cafes, tea shops, catering businesses,hotels, boarding houses and restaurants as well.
We also began to sell at shows around the country. Our first venture at this was at the Town and Country Show at the Royal Showground where our products were so popular that we could hardly keep pace with the demand and had to return to our home base over and over again to replenish stocks!
This is part of our cutlery section display. As a result of this we ventured into the world of Agricultural Shows more and more and had great adventures, often being towed off muddy showgrounds after a weekend show or having our huge marquee almost take off in the wind. At shows such as this, and at indoor shows too , as well as domestic buyers, we met people who ran tea rooms within garden centres or ran pheasant shoots with refreshements afterwards or pig roasts or other such events and so we added to our customers. Now , due to customer demand, we can sell on line to all our existing customers ( many of whom have become like friends over the years) and we can sell to new customers whether they are at home or involved in the catering trade.
So here we are. This is us with our first grandchild. We love cooking ourselves and dining with friends and family. We sell only products we would be happy to use ourselves and we hope you will enjoy buying from us. |
